On the Sand

Shoes, heat, chairs and how the beach feels on the day.

Should we choose a sand or pebble beach?

Choose sand for barefoot ceremonies and soft photos, and pebbles for clearer water and quiet coves. Lara, Belek, Side and Alanya have long sandy beaches, while Kemer and Kaş are mostly pebble and rocky coves.

Can we get married barefoot?

Yes. In July and August the sand is very hot at midday, but by the last hour before sunset it is comfortable. We lay an aisle runner or wooden decking so barefoot guests are never on hot or uneven ground.

Will chairs and the arch sink into the sand?

No. We build the ceremony area on a wooden platform or firm decking, and arches and flower stands have weighted bases, so everything stays level and steady.

How do you keep guests cool at a summer beach wedding?

We schedule the ceremony close to sunset, keep it to 20 to 30 minutes, and add shade, cold water and fans for guests. Dinner moves to a terrace or beach club once the sun goes down.

Wind, Sun and Sea

What the Mediterranean weather means for your ceremony.

Is it too hot for a beach wedding in July or August?

Midday can reach 34°C, so we never hold summer ceremonies in the afternoon. By sunset the sun is low and the air is cooler, which is why July and August weddings start around 18:30 to 19:00.

Will the wind ruin our hair, veil and decor?

An afternoon sea breeze is common and usually eases toward sunset. We secure veils and flowers, use lanterns instead of open candles, and can choose a sheltered cove or terrace if your date looks windy.

Can guests swim after the ceremony?

Yes, from June to October the sea is warm enough at 24 to 29°C, and most resort beaches allow it. Many couples plan a swim and cocktail hour, or a relaxed beach party the next day.

What happens if it rains?

Rain is rare from June to September. For spring and late autumn dates, every venue we book has a covered terrace or indoor space ready, and we make the final weather call with you the day before.

Rules on the Beach

Local rules that shape what is possible on the sand.

Are there sea turtle rules on Antalya beaches?

Yes. Parts of Belek and other Antalya beaches are loggerhead turtle nesting areas, protected in the nesting season from roughly May to September. Resorts there limit night lighting and setups near nests, and we plan decor and timing around those rules.

Can we have fireworks, sky lanterns or sparklers?

Sky lanterns are not allowed at most venues because of the fire risk, and fireworks need venue approval. Most couples choose sparklers where the venue allows them, or cold-spark machines for the first dance.

Can we use a drone for photos?

Often, yes. Drones in Turkey must be registered and some areas near airports and resorts are restricted, so we only book licensed drone operators and confirm the rules for your venue first.

What happens to the beach after the wedding?

We clear every chair, arch and decoration the same night and leave the sand as we found it. We use real or biodegradable petals and avoid plastic confetti on the beach.

Guests on the Beach

Making the day easy for every guest, from grandparents to kids.

Can elderly guests or wheelchair users reach the ceremony?

Yes, when we choose the right venue. We look for beaches with paved paths or boardwalks to the ceremony area, reserve front-row seats and, at larger resorts, arrange buggies from the hotel.

Are beach weddings good for children?

Yes. Children usually love a beach wedding. We add a shaded kids' corner, child-friendly menus and, if you like, a babysitter so parents can enjoy the evening.

What should we tell guests to wear and bring?

Light fabrics, flat sandals or block heels, sunglasses and sunscreen. For April, May, October and November weddings, guests should also bring a light layer for the evening.

Do our guests need a visa for Turkey?

It depends on their nationality. Many European and UK passport holders can visit visa-free for short stays, while others need an e-Visa from the official Turkish government website. Guests should check their own rules before booking flights.

Booking Your Beach

How to secure the right beach for your date.

How far ahead should we book a beach venue in Antalya?

For June, September and October weekends, book 9 to 12 months ahead, because the best beach venues fill first. Weekdays and April or November dates can often be arranged in 3 to 6 months.

Can we see the beach before we book?

Yes. We send photos and video of each beach filmed at your ceremony time, and we can arrange visits and menu tastings if you travel to Antalya before the wedding.
